About:

I was invited to a conference held at Winebrenner Seminary in March 2010, which the theme was Expresso Yourself. I asked the Lord how and what He may like to Express Himself? I pondered the parable of the ten virgins, Matthew 25:1-13. A reference to this is: Luke 12:35. The people were given coffee cups as gifts and so I used these mages rather than the lamps as spoken of in Scripture.

I tried several times to understand if the Lord’s Image was to be human or Spirit. But what seemed to work simply, was to reveal only His Hands receiving. There is an element of Him being mysterious. Our part is for us to discover and desire to KNOW Him more intimately. Thus, to keep the lamp burning brightly. We may take our Life, our Time, our Love to prepare and have our lives in order for the Bridegroom’s precious return. I believe the extra oil refers to this as a daily progression of building up the relationship with Jesus Christ and knowing Him more intimately than we have known previously. All areas of our life need to be surrendered, touched, and changed. Our time needs to be used wisely and our love needs to have proper motives of giving away what has been invested and entrusted to us as His Bride. Thus, these virgins are set apart male and female, and recognized by the Bridegroom.

I found it interesting the Greek word for “trim” is Kosmeo,Strong’s #2885, meaning cosmetic. To beautify, arrange, decorate, furnish, embellish, adorn, and put in order. In Matthew 25:6-7, states: “And at midnight a cry was heard; Behold the Bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!” Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. This is a way the five wise virgins were accepted and received before the door closed.
