About:

In my studio, I invited two friends to worship and enjoy God along with me. I had no idea what I may do on the paper but somehow I kept thinking of hands. So as I played around with colors and thinking of different positions, I was thinking also of Fire and Passion that God has for us. I had been asked, by invitation only, to attend a prayer conference in Dickson, Tennessee. I decided to go and brought this piece to worship God there. Things began to really gel and flow as the music was being expressed and messages preached. I sensed I was to use rainbow colors on the flesh but wasn’t certain how to accomplish this. As I trusted and enjoyed myself exploring what the colors may do as they relate to each other, I began to realize one hand was to represent the Bride. The ring suggests a marriage covenant globally, multi-culturally, and generationally through time. I wondered at the end of the third day what to name the piece. I remember asking the Lord and heard the words “Hold Your Peace”.

However, when I was leaving a month later to have it scanned, I wrote: “Hold Your Piece”. I thought how silly I spelled it wrong. But as I looked in Webster’s dictionary and “piece” meant: 1.) a particular quality 2.) a period of time 3.) an interval of space 4.) a length; a standard 5.) a product of creative work 6.) a projectile weapon 7.) a coin or special metal 8.) chiefly dial 9.) a fortified city 10.) a strip of leather 11.) floor 12.) a man used in playing a board game 13.) log 14.) a chunk of a whole 15.) portions picked out 16.) viewpoint 17.) ownership of an enterprise or property I began the next several weeks pondering each definition Biblically. It is amazing the authority and portion we have been given as a Bride. We can choose to exercise our position and portion properly. We can establish and restore His Kingdom rightly on Earth as it is… in Heaven… as One in Spirit of Truth. I believe this piece portrays how we may keep and uphold “His Standard” of Love. Because it isn’t Love until,… it is given away.
