About:

As I was working on this piece in Columbus, Ohio, I was beginning to see myself in this young girl. I began thinking of the story I was expressing about her feelings of having a new baby brother added to their family. The unsettling of all the changes and adjustments needed, less attention and time for her, more noise of crying and busyness, fear of not feeling valued, and what would this life actually bring to her life? This situation could be seen as an interruption or as an unknown extension of receiving and birthing a new gift of love. As I was working on this, I noticed my feelings became unsettled.

Then in prayer I asked God, “If this was not going to be placed in a book, what would you name it?” I heard the words: “Change Is Inevitable.” These days as there are seasons and many shifts in life, rarely do humans like or enjoy going through changes. I think it is quite interesting to view how she is sitting in the dark but looking out a window to her future. Personally, I believe the best is yet to come no matter what circumstances seem to occur.
